Orthomol GmbH has introduced Orthomol® Redox, a self test that can be used to evaluate the oxidative stress affecting the body by determining levels of malondialdehyde, which is generated when free radicals attack unsaturated fatty acids and it is eliminated with the urine. The amount of malondialdehyde present can be determined by means of a color reaction. Morning urine is mixed with an indicator solution and the more intensive the red color, the greater the free radical stress that the body is exposed to.
